Creating space in 2026

Lived Experience Media exists for many reasons; where to begin?  We are in the midst of a global restructuring, where those in positions of power are taking more than their fair share (as usual) but now the citizens of planet earth can share information in real time and expose the violent unbalance that is occurring.

The movement has caught fire and more people are fighting to reclaim the power that comes from community and our shared humanity.  This is a time to reimagine what could be and to fight for what is right.  Lived Experience Media wants to support and center the people who are experiencing the systems that need to be changed as well as the leaders who are working towards making positive change.

So, how do we achieve this?

To begin, with this blog.  Having space to share stories is important and this blog is going to be filled with local, provincial and national stories of people facing and fighting oppression and marginalization. Storytelling is ancient knowledge and it is where we can learn from each others experiences.

Book Club is going to be a space where authors can list their books and sell them to readers directly.  Reading is resistance and Indie authors need support amplifying their stories.  If you know a Canadian, indie author – please send them to our Writers Wanted page to submit their book.

And lastly, by helping social enterprises, businesses own by marginalized people, and non-profits tell their story and engage with clients and customers.  By supporting the local economy, we all win.  If you know a business or organization looking to build an online presence or develop a marketing campaign that will engage community, please send them to our services pages.

Please like and share all our stories on social media @livedexperience.media

Since 2021 parents across Simcoe County, under the leadership of Natasha Shakespeare and her organization PARSC (Parents Against Racism Simcoe County), have been fighting the local public and Catholic school boards for the safety of their Black children.    One call for support
